Filipino American History Month

As part of Filipino American History Month (October) I've been asked to participate in Filipino Pride Day Jacksonville. I will be showing my work at the Main Jacksonville Public Library with an official opening during Art Walk Downtown Jax. Here's a flyer with all the information, fFeaturing my Bahay kubo etching and Panatang Makabayan lithograph in the flyer. There are amazing paintings by Grace Bio and beautiful posters from the Smithsonian Library relating the cultural, social, and political history of Asian Pacific Americans in America. So honored to have been asked to be a part of this! The exhibit runs through the whole month.

The Filipino Pride Day event on Saturday Oct. 4 was so great. Held at the Riverside Arts Market, it was a beautiful overcast day with the temperature hovering between 70-80 degrees. There were many food trucks serving Filipino food and drinks, as well as goods, and entertainment by local and international artists. It was a packed venue full of so many racially diverse people all celebrating Filipino culture here in the US. If you haven't been to FPD Jax, be sure you come next year! It seems to only be getting better and better.
